Since 3 days i bought Macbook 12 there is a creaking in the left side of laptop when i am slowly opening it and closing. The creaking is hearing from the side where is left side of speaker.

when I hold up the hand in that place it stops creaking

Unfortunately i didnt have opportunity to take in apple store because i bought it from my friend.Im live in the Ukraine.

The people in service center said that is minor defect
thay said its either lost by the time or decided by disassembling and assembling back case

Anyone of owners macbook 12 has it?
What do you thinking about it?

I think it manufacturing problems with first computers

So I believe there's two little feet on the screen half that touch the table when you have the screen open in order to prop the macbook up at an angle, if I'm not mistaken. Could the creaking you hear be those little pieces rubbing on the table (which is why you don't hear it when you pick it up)?

I could be totally wrong about this, but I thought I saw that the outside bottom edge of the screen touches the table when the screen is opened all the way.

The creaking hearing from here( I attach picture and show arrow)

And when i hold my hand very strong on left side of speaker the creaking stops

My macbook pro screen creaks because its misaligned at the factory. Same here?

my macbook starts creaking after 3 days

i think its repairable because i don't wanna to send it to appstore and wait 3 weeks or more

but im happy that when i hold it its stops creaking

probably it's rubs something

is it possible to disassemble and reassemble case on this macbook?

Either WD-40 or you are holding it wrong! :);)

On next week i take it in autorhized service center and hope they fix it

i want to ask is it possible to disassemble the case on rMB?
as i understand to glue WD40 between hinge and the case its needed to do

or not?

I was TOTALLY kidding about the WD-40, do NOT use that lol.:p

ok
if serious what do you recommended?

If its going to bother you i would just take it to the genius bar and have them order you a new one. And I'm sure while you wait for the new one to come in they will let you use your current one. Whenever the new one comes go in and swap it. Easy peasy.

Agree - stay away - WD40 is a solvent - NOT a lubricant like everyone thinks.

Use it for rubbing out stains on steel tops ;)

Hell i don't even like using WD-40 on my motorcycle. That **** gets EVERYWHERE! Although like mentioned its REALLY good on getting stubborn stains off the rims like chain wax that has flung off onto the rim ;)

Well
its strange, but creaking is gone:)

only in rare situations when you hold macbook by one hand its little creaking

I noticed that over time the hinges became tighter and when you open and closing laptop its become more stonger
Previously, it was easier to open case

now hinges like in my previous pro retina 13

Is it normal?

I haven't looked closely enough at the new rMB to give an accurate assessment, but whenever my 11" MBA creaks from the hinge I tighten the torx screws on the back of the device and that usually solves the issue..

Again, I don't own an rMB, nor do I know how they are constructed, so YMMV.

+1. I just started experiencing this issue on the rMB I've been testing over the last two weeks. Will be a shame if this is a common problem that begins to appear on this model.
