Hi.
Just received yesterday my new MacBook Pro 14” and noticed this.
The hinge doesn’t keep the tension just before getting closed. Half a cm or so.
Is normal?
Please watch the video.
Thanks for your help.

yeah same for mine, but it feels like "satisfying magnetic like" close not like its wrong
Yes, not saying is wrong. Just want to check with others if is a normal behavior with this year MacBooks as my girlfriend’s 13” last year M1 air closes differently.
More feedback will be really appreciated.
Thanks everyone

MBP 14" here, same behaviour, it feels a lil bit different than MBP 2020 or MBP 2010 that I owned but as @astorre mentioned, for me it's a little bit more satisfying, not offering that resistance at that point and letting the magnets to do the final job.

You're more than welcome, completely normal to be careful/curious with your new equipment, specially since the design changed in this generation. Your hinge/lid behaviour is ok, now get some juice out of it and enjoy your new MBP :)

Same thing here. Its just different with the new industrial design. Not a bad different. I think its actually an improvement over previous models.
