Hello everyone -

I'm new to the forum. I have a MacBook that desperately needs a larger hard drive. I'm searching for any feedback on how well the 160 gig internal hard drives are working in the Mac Book's. Wondering if anyone has experienced any heating issues with the 160 versus 120.

Thanks a million,
Ruth

I don't have any direct experience, but it looks like most people are giving the Hitachi 5K160 rave reviews.

I upgraded my 17" PBG4 to the Seagate 160GB. Can't tell any temp difference [from 100GB] (right now, it's reporting 91.4ºF, and I've had it spun up for a while tonight). On the PBG4, it's mounted under my left palm, and it doesn't feel much different than the right side.

It's also noticably faster than the 100GB stock. Virtually silent, but then most new drives with fluid bearings are.
