Hii Everyone,

I'm sitting here with a malfunctioning white MacBook, from the top of my head it's a 'MacBook 3.1', but just to be sure I'll give some specs:

2.0 GHz C2D processor
standard 1gb ram @ 667MHz

It had a 'combodrive', it was capable of reading dvd's and burning cd's, but not dvd's. I suspect the drive to be defect and want to buy a replacement. Would a 'superdrive' work? This one: Panasonic UJ-875.

Thank you

In the great white north
The UJ-875 is 12.5mm tall and will not work in your white macbook. You need the 9.5mm UJ-857, UJ-857CA or GWA-4080MB superdrive.
Yes you can directly swap a superdrive for a combo drive and vice versa.
