So I am purchasing a MacBook 7,1 soon to replace my Windows laptop, mainly because of the cheap price which would allow me to grab some upgrades as well.

I already have a SSD(Sandisk 256gb) and with the extra money from buying this macbook, I will grab 16gbs of ram.

Now Im curious on performance, anyone able to share theirs?

I know someone's gonna say it and before you do, no I am not buying a new Pro or old Pro. Ive found them to be too expensive(300+) while the MacBook is around 200+ and allowing for upgrades too.

Thanks!

I think the performance is a huge increase, my benchmarks for my m7 had been amazing since the upgrade.

I second that this MacBook is a very great performer for day to day usage. I bought mine second hand from a high school in 2014 for $300. Invested in 8GB of RAM and a 250GB Samsung SSD, I could not ask for a better computer.

I see you posted your post September of last year. Did you end up going forward with the purchase of a MacBook 7,1? If so how do you like it? Have you upgraded your RAM and drive yet?
