My macbook gives only a white screen when starting up.

You can hear the chime, but the screen stays white.
Tried an external monitor, but does not work either.

I tried the following:
Resetting SMC
starting up with C, ALT, ... pressed
booting without HDD
booting with only 1 RAM memory strip
booting with a apple DVD,

All of them dont work.

any suggestions??

What exact "Apple DVD" did you use, was it the grey Restore DVD, that came with that Mac or a Retail version of Mac OS X or what?
Do you have access to another Mac with Firewire, thus you could try Target Disk Mode?

I used the grey DVD that came with the macbook.

unfortunately i only have 1 mac ...
So the Target Disk Mode is no option.

I tried to boot without RAM as well.
Then the screen stays black and the Macbook beeps.

It is the grey install DVD 1.

I tried both OPTION and C key
Both don't work.

Today i will try to do the same with the HDD taken out.
Maybe that will do the trick.....

I doubt taking the hard disk will help, if you have already tried to boot from the installation disk. Unfortunately it looks like the logic board has failed, as your symptoms are similar to this person.

[doublepost=1494747751][/doublepost]I know this is an old forum, but I just wanted to share my experience for anyone else who can't figure this out. Mine would not boot past the white screen because my mother board integrated graphics burned out. the A1181s (though old now) are notorious for overheating. If you've tried system restore/hard drive remedies and your macbook still isn't booting past the white screen, it's probably your motherboard. I found mine cheap on ebay for $40.
