Hello,

Im in the market for a MacBook Air. I am having trouble deciding the configuration i should get. Please Help me.

I Currently have an iMac 27 i7 8GB Mid 2010 - which i use for design work running CS5 Design Premium and Aperture. ALSO owner of iPad 64GB 3G (which im selling to get MacBook Air). Also iPhone 4 Owner.

I will want to use CS5 Design Premium and Aperture 3 on the MacBook Air BUT only to show clients and make small adjustments, NOTHING intensive will be done on the MacBook Air, thats whats the iMac is for.

Im looking at this configuration

MacBook Air 11" 1.4GHz 4GB 128GB im looking at this model as i really like the size of the 11". My concerns are that the MacBook Air wont be able to handle CS5 Design Premium or Aperture.

I really have my eye on the 11" i know the 13" is going to give better performance but i feel if i go for 13" i may as well go for macbook pro.

MY QUESTION is please do i need to spend the extra money to upgrade the processor to 1.6GHz from standard 1.4GHz for what im using the MacBook Air for will i see noticeable performance difference. .2GHz worth it?

Do you need to? No. It's probably about 14% difference according to the benchmarks. But if you are already spending $1299 for that configuration then spending $100 more seems like it's not a bad idea. That's the configuration I have and I think it's pretty nice.

I love my 1.4, 128, 4gb config. Lightly use CS5 with no problem. Aperture too. I decided to save the $100 because I know I'll be salivating when the new model arrives. Yes, I drank the Apple Kool-Aid.

Might as well as wait for ipad 3 or 4 or 5 or 6. They will be all worth it too. Then again, let's wait for ipad 254678.
