Great deal. Now I just need to find someone with a 13" MBA that wants to trade for the extra verizon 64gb iPad I'm about to have. :)

Cheers.

Why do you say that...its $850 as a refurb from :apple: and he got it for $600 (with the new iPad and $100 cash)... So he at least saved $250...

1: because many owners of iPad 3 are selling them for about $1,000 on ebay/Amazon

and

2: there are new MBA coming out soon!.

Point 2 may be valid, but point 1 is invalid because I can at this time walk into my local Apple Store and Best Buy and buy any version of this The New Ipad I want.

Well, the verdict is in. I am typing this message on my new MBA 11' and I love it.
Dude, are you crazy its a terrible deal, don't you know that using Macbook Airs with the Core processors has been proven to directly cause testicular cancer, breast cancer, endometriosis, and all kinds of other diseases of the sexual organs within 1 week. Ill tell you what, since I'm a nice guy, ill let you give it to me and ill give you a new iPad, you can just owe me favor or something right, no big deal, what are friends for.

Resale value on MBA will be way higher than any iPad.
Check ebay - the base 11.6 MBA from 2010 (2GB RAM, 64 SSD, 1.4 core2duo) in mint condition are going for well over $700.00. iPads will drop in price quicker.

Decide if you want an ipad or a mba first and foremost.
But since this is an opinion thread, I don't see how anyone could be more productive on an ipad than a mba.
So if anyone cares about efficiency, go for a mba.
you can't beat a keyboard.
And most of the time, I want to stand an ipad up rather than just hold it in my hands. That basically makes the ipad into the form factor of a laptop, which the 11" mba is just about the lightes on you can buy.
I never understood the fascination with tablets as a serious tool. As serious fun, yes, but not as true productivity tool.
For programmers, there is no argument that can be made. But even for "regular" non-power users, I don't see why people would rather type a class paper or email on an ipad than on a mba. Why people would rather watch a movie on an ipad than a mba. Why people would rather mess around with an itunes library on an ipad vs a mba. I can understand why people would rather read the NYTimes on an ipad or play a video game.
