You get an education discount in the UK if buying in store and proving you're at University. Do this online and it falls under a "higher education agreement" the university's signed with Apple. As well as a discount you get a 3 year AppleCare Hardware Warranty. For a fee of about £40-50 you can add telephone support so it's the full AppleCare warranty.

That sounds like a good deal. Here in the States, we simply have the option to get 3-year AppleCare for $183.
