I travel every day with my laptop situated on passenger seat desk. I used it for my schedule and CRM. Then lots of word processing and excel spreadsheet. Very light video editing. Then hotel stays 2-4 nights a week and my sole source of entertainment. My laptop died now I need to buy a new laptop. I was originally going the new M2 13 but with the 15 was wondering if I should limp along with my tablet for a month. With refurbs the 13 is much cheaper in my expectations. Is the size the only difference?

ofcourse not, the 15inch will be noticeably heavier due to the extra 2 inches, then theres the screen, as the 13inch shown apple has a hard time getting the screen uniformity right due to various factors, a even larger IPS screen will most likely be even more noticeable. the battery would be amazing though, if the 13inch is like the 14 pro, the 15inch would be like pro max.

Sounds like the 13 makes more sense for your usage scenario. Apple has a good 14 day return policy, can give it a try and see how you like it. What size screen is your current laptop?

13 inch and its been fine size wise but you always think the new one gotta be better.

im currently considering the core 10 with the 8gb ram and 500gb storage as more then good for my usage unless im mistaken

if you plan to keep this for the long haul, its generally best to get 16gb of ram, especially if you're video editing, but I know plenty seem fine with 8gb. I dont do anything heavy with mine but I plan to keep it till it dies so I went with the 10 Core GPU model, 16gb ram and 1tb ssd. By far my favourite laptop ive ever owned. Sitting on my couch and typing this away right now on it and haven't charged it in 3 days, still 55% battery lol

I bought a 13" MBA 8/8/16/1TB 3 months ago, after using an iMac 27" for years. To my pleasant surprise, this has been the best Mac I ever owned! Great keyboard, good screen and it is so fast, it never makes you wait!
Your situation is similar (I don't travel though) and I think you will love the 13", which is actually 13.6".
I suggest getting the 16GB RAM, but the 512GB SSD should be plenty. I have 850GB+ left now, and I have lots of installer files and MP3s that are not essential. Now, if I had to do it again, I'd buy the same configuration you mentioned! I don't think you will be disappointed. The Space Grey I have has a nice bit of contrast between the computer and the keys on the keyboard. That contrast disappears on the Midnight Blue model and I personally don't like that. If you have the chance, go to an Apple store and check out the color choices. I have seen that 8/10/16/512 model on the refurb list, but it is not common.

Travel is the defining factor. 13" Air/MBP as it's easily fast enough for the tasks at hand. The 15"/16" are too big for most hotel room safes and generally bulkier to haul about. The 14" MBP is a decent compromise, however I dont care for the loss in battery life versus the 13" MBP.

I own a 13" M1 MBP myself, while I'd prefer a more extensive port solution and have no interest in the Touchbar this MBP is the best Mac I've ever owned as it runs flawlessly and can run for days on end without the need to charge.
