I got it from my other computer which worked when installing osx mavericks.

it won't let me try to download it, saying the same thing. And also my macbook air is a late 2008

It doesn't matter, as any MacBook Air from late 2008 on will support Mavericks. As already suggested, just download it directly from Apple.

how do i do a clean install.

I have a 2008, my mistake

i can't download from app store because i get the same error

I clean installed my computer and i still get the same error when trying to download it.

But could i try making a boot drive for my mavericks installer and try to do sort of a clean install thing on my mac.

Actually I just found out that my mac is a early 2008 and not a late 2008 so it is not compatible with mavericks.

I guess im stuck with getting lion.
