Hi. I have a MacBook Air 11" which it is 128gb. I have partitioned it into 2. Now, I would like to make it as 1 whole hard drive. I shut down the laptop then turn it on while holding down Option. Went into Disk Utility. Tried formatting both partition and then make it as 1 partition. Didn't work. Tried to reduce the second the second part of the partition to a smaller size and it still doesn't work. Had to reinstall the OS and redo the partition without the formatting, still doesn't. Plz help

You have to repartition the drive before formatting.

Go to Disk Utility and click on your drive (not one of the partitions on the drive).

Click on the Partition tab at the right and change it to 1 partition.

Then format, install the OS, etc.

I rebooted while holding the OPTION button. Went into Utility and change to 1 Partition. An error came up saying Partition Failed Couldn't unmount disk.

I figured it out. I had to Unmount the OSX partition then Unmount the second partition. Now I could select to partition which ever partition I wish. Thanks everyone for the help.
