Macbook Air 2011 too slow!

how many kinds of slow are there?

I too have a new Macbook Air that runs very slowly and freezes regularly. I just tried geekbench, and it's running well above 5,000. So what else could it be? I've never had this problem with a Mac before. Often I will open a Safari page and nothing is there, or a Facebook page will stall and go blurry like a bad photograph, or I just spend a ridiculous amount of time looking at a spinning wheel.

Does anyone know what causes this sort of thing?

13" i7, I had have installed a lot of programs, about 30 gigs worth and here is my score, 64 bit. I have had memory problems, wish it was 8 gig.

I closed out safari and just re-ran geek bench 64, it went up a little higher.
