Hi. Can somebody please put me on the correct path with sing finder.
on the top I have Documents under that I have Applications then Downloads Movies Pictures iCloud
most of my documents are in the iCloud folder.
My question is if 99% of my documents are on the iCloud what is the documents folder for do I keep items there that I don't want to be saved to the cloud?.Sorry if that sounds confusing I need to sort the documents and the pictures folders etc in a organised method.
Any help please.

Yes! Any files stored in the non-iCloud documents folder will be stored on the hard drive of your Mac! If you go into settings>iCloud>iCloudDrive(Options)>and then tick the documents and desktop folders (at the top), and then restart the Mac, you may even notice that the additional Documents folder has disappeared!

Hi Many thanks for the prompt reply. What you are saying that I could leave the setup as it stands and use the documents folder for items not required on the cloud.Correct?.
[doublepost=1548797240][/doublepost]Sorry to get back to you this is the setup I have the top Documents contents also goes to the cloud. And the documents named David Williams are the one that saves to the hdd.
How do I hide the top documents if possible and keep the iCloud icon instead of that doc folder.
Can you understand what I req. Keep all documents I don't require on the cloud to be saved to the D Williams folder.

Yes, I can help with this!

If you want to remove the document button, simply hold down the command button, and drag it to the trash can!

Hope this helps!

Meant to say when I select the go tab on the menu bar that documents folder shows up there with an option to check the box or uncheck ?
