Hey,
I am a happy owner of a Macbook air 2019. I love the portability and the use but... I have new activities for my work and I noticed that my Macbook air struggles with that. For instance, everytime I use Zoom or doing webinar, the fan starts to work very quickly. I have the same problem with Garage Band that I use to do some podcasting.
So I am wondering if I should buy another Mac and I am not decided whether to take the Air 2020 or the Pro 2020.
If any of you here have advice on this and particularly using Video recording on Zoom, Webinar Platform and use of Garage Band. Please indicate me which mac would be more suitable for my use!
I have to say that portability is also a key for me as I'm traveling quite a bit and have back problems carrying heavy stuff (Macbook Pro has not a huge difference in weight..but still, every grams count!)
Thanks in advance!

The fan is simply doing its job. Are Zoom and GarageBand working as expected or are they really slow?

Garage Band is a little bit slow at times. But Zoom and webinar are ok. It is mostly a fan issue. Do you think there is no need for changing laptop then?

Well, that's ultimately up to you, but personally I wouldn't switch simply due to the fans spinning up. Better than them not running fast enough and the computer get damaged! As long as you're satisfied with your work flow with the machine, I'd say keep it.

I understand. Thanks for your reply. I am satisfied with the Macbook Air most of the time. But when you do other things that normal use, the fan spinning up is quite annoying. But if it is no issue, I better keep it then!
