Macbook Air A1370

Hii guys.
I have good laptop for everyday use (Dell 3737), but i need something small and light for my job. I would do office + python or java, myb wordpress..

Friend is seeling his macbook air A1370 with dead battery (works on charger) for 200$ US. It has i5, ssd 64gb, and 2gb of ram, 11 inch screen.



Now i don't know if these specs are all right for me? The laptop would be used only 2 times a week for the actions above.

With only 2 gb of ram, it would definitely hold back the performance as just loading the operating system could use up almost 2gb, depending on the version of macOS.

Unfortunately, the ram cannot be upgraded.

Look for something better. It will be a painful experience with just 2GB of RAM.

If you're just looking for something for basic usage, 2GB can work. I use a 2011 Air with 2GB of RAM for school (I'm a teacher) and it does everything I need well enough, which mostly consists of basic productivity.

For most people, though, I'd steer them away from the 2GB Airs today, especially if it costs over the $200 point or so. $200 seems a bit much for an older 2GB Air with a dead battery, but it's your money mate

Like I said, i need it mostly for office and college work, sometimes for pyhton.. can u install it please and tell me how it works? its couple of mb only to download

I teach programming to my kiddos, and it's run Java, Python, and Perl well enough. It's no speed demon, but it works

I think it could work, but that it would work best with an older version of OS X. Is that practical for your needs?

If so, purchasing it might not be a bad idea, but the price seems pretty steep. If the battery is not holding any charge at all, the system could be running at a reduced speed because of this, and it would make an already older system even less usable. If they are willing to sell closer to $100-125, it seems like a good deal provided you are OK with the price of a replacement battery and comfortable doing a battery install. If you are not, then IMO something else may be a better option.
