I put a Speck case on my 13" yesterday and I love it. It's the best way to ensure that I don't put a scratch on it when I set it down.

Dunno if it is too late but I'd suggest a joli originals leather sleeve, pricey though...

I've never used one but I havent seen anything other than first rate reviews for it, and I'll be getting One for my air later this year...

I'll order it from A&E though cause I'll probably have a heart attack at the price lol (about £80 delivered to the uk) but to spend over 1000 on a laptop and not do your best to protect it is madness!!

Google " Jolie originals" and there is a thread on here about them too I think

Peace

I'm not sure why people keep posting about sleeves in a case thread. I appreciate the advice, but a sleeve protects my computer about 1% of the time. The other 99% I am actually using it, so I'd like a case of some sort. At this point, from what others have said, I am thinking Moshi is the best, Speck is a step down from that, and iPearl is at the bottom. I put iPearl at the bottom because it is the one I got, and it has already lost its feet. Still, it works exactly the same -- just fine. So, maybe I won't return it. Would like the Moshi, but it is nearly three times as expensive.

Has anyone had issues with the hinges using the ipearl?

I'm looking for the best hard case. Seemed like it was the ipearl but some say no?

My wife has had her iPearl for a day and it does not interfere with the hinge in any way. I would not say that the iPearl is the best hard case, but probably the best value.

I'm willing to spend $100 for a case. Is there another that snaps on just as easy as the iPearl someone could recommend?

Or if $100 isn't going to get the best how much does? Lol

No problem with the hinges. I don't have the Moshi, but I bet it does snap on easily as well.

I went with the Speck case

I went with the Speck case for my 2012 13" MBA.

I like it, but to be honest, it hasn't even been a week yet. I got the MBA on Monday and the Speck case from Newegg on Tuesday. But I had a Speck case on my 2010 13" MBP and I always liked it and never had a problem with it, so they're ok with me.

The reviews on the Speck are not great. A number of people complain about the tabs breaking off. I can believe it. The thinness of the MBA doesn't leave a lot of room for excess trim, so the case is damn near a skin on the MBA. But that was also my experience on the MBP, so that's what I wanted. Plus, I take extremely good care of my equipment, so maybe it's just a function of me simply being careful.

Nevertheless, it's day 4. I still like it. :) If that counts for anything, go for it.

P.S. The price on Newegg is only $33. Don't buy the Speck case from Speck.

I had Speck on my MBP. Looked gorgeous, especially the clear ones. The MBA, though, is a different beast. It is so small, I hate to mess around with it. I am still considering a sleeve...

I'll probably get this case, but I wonder if it will fit the new model. [EDIT: Their website says it does. I ordered, and it will arrive Friday.]

Ah dude my bad, i was replying to JGCs post and i just realised i miss understood it... i read slip on case and jumped straight to sleeves... sorrrrryy

I went with the SPECK See-Thru clear.
I had a satin on my old Pro. It was fine, but a fingerprint magnet.
I bought a Thule sleeve to go with it and the Air slips in fine with the SPECK fitted.

I sometimes think I go over the top with protection.
I have a new 13" Air and already I have a case, iVisor screen cover, trackpad film and a wrist rest cover. I have nothing like that on my Asus Windows laptop. Must be Apple fever.

You beat me by 1 minute.

I'm not looking for a snap-on case, I'm looking for a slip-in case that I can leave in my backpack and take my 13" MBA out of when needed. I'm looking for an MBA-specific one however. There's tons of 13" generic ones that fit thicker laptops but don't provide a great fit for the thinner MBA. Does anyone know of any in the $30-$40 price range? I don't like neoprene but I would accept it since I'm looking for affordability. It needs to looks okay, not great, as long as it will work. Quote me if you can help.

Cheers.

My requirements were same as yours and even I was not willing to go for a generic case for my MBA. Yesterday, I did research to find a good case for my MBA and I landed up ordering this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/28090626873...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_2028wt_1037. I liked the color and texture of it. If you notice the texture looks very similar to the login screen of Mac OSX. I hope you find this useful. :)

It's not a case, it is a sleeve. Feel free to start a thread on the topic of sleeves if you'd like. This is a thread about cases -- a hard, usually plastic accessory that stays attached to the MBA during use in order to protect it.
