MacBook Air Creak? Any Solutions?

Might be hard to hear from the background noise but...any solutions?

Mine has a similar MINOR creaking when first opening my 11". At first I was bothered by it, but I actually like the fact that my hinge is very tight/sturdy. That and I need absolute silence to hear it. Hopefully no long time wear on any other parts.


I'm curious how many other have it when checking as well though!

I had exactly the same issue on my 13" MBA 2013.

I tried the dental floss around the hinge idea but it never worked.

I knew it would annoy me so I returned it.

New one doesn't have it.

Bringing it to hte apple store tomorrow, afraid that the creaking will all of a sudden stop of cannot hear over the loudness of the store.

Should I ask for a replacement or just get them to repair it?

If you're within the 14-day return window, you can also always return it regularly.

Sending in for replacement hopefully next one will be better and possibly with a Samsung screen.

Good call, hope you get a samsung screen (though unlikely as Apple's currently full of returned LG screens).
