Macbook Air desktop icon

Hey guys, anyone know where I could download a replacement icon for my Macintosh HD desktop icon, hoping to replace it with a nice looking icon of a Macbook Air, ive had a look at some icon sites, but can't find anything ?

There is a specific section on the Apple Downloads website with icon replacements:

Thanks Terwal, im actually looking for an actual little image of the macbook air itself to use as a replacement for the Macintosh HD logo, as ive seen people use the macbook picture or macbook pro or even imac picture on their desktop as their Macintosh HD replacement icon....

Have a poke around the icons section of interfacelift.com, I'm sure you'll find one there. Failing that try iconfactory.com, or Google!

edit: if you look in /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle (right click on the .bundle file and select Show package contents) you might even find an "official" one.

Now how do I get the macbook air icon to replace the harddrive icon? If i drag it over to the get info screen, it changes the icon to a tiff image.

It depends on what type your picture file is. I don't think it can accept ALL picture files. I know jpgs work for sure.

I was trying to use the hi-res icons that are hidden in one of Leopards sub folders. Not to sound gimmicky, but I was hoping to be to replace the hard drive icon with the one for the MBA. Then when I enlarge the icon on my desktop, I want the MBA icon to enlarge. I am not sure if it is even possible?

i've been trying to find a nice SSD icon since my macbook air uses ssd. Anybody know where to find one? I already tried the apple site. no luck. thanks 🙂
