So I was given this MacBook Air with some issues. When I plugged it into the charger, it powered on. Started the booting cycle and immediately restarted. The screen will blink and restart constantly. I have tried the resetting method… I think, and it finally showed the apple symbol and starting a loading process, but towards the end of the process it starts to cycle the booting process. Finally it’ll die showing the charging battery picture in the middle of the screen.

Some things that maybe could be done:

1. Battery swap (replacement is super easy, and these batteries are not glued in, so you can get one and install it in about 10 minutes)

2. SSD issues, this could be replaced too.

3. Charger Cable issues (is there another MagSafe 2 charger available to test?)

But before doing all this:

I would definitively suggest, if you have the required tools to open the MBA, open it up and clean everything with a brush, there may be dust inside that could also cause issues.

As suggested above, remove the back cover (with the proper tools for the screws - kits available on Amazon). First thing to attempt is to disconnect the battery connector. Watch YT videos for your model on how to achieve this. Then power up again using the original / OEM power adapter that is suitable to power this model. Not a clone power adapter. You should see a dark magsafe connector head upon insertion to the macbook; a slight pause; then the green / orange light will turn on. If the green / orange light is on immediately then you have a fake charger and does not offer a soft start circuit which is risky. Every clone adapter we have seen is immediately 'hot' on the power rails so if you touch the aluminum body of the macbook, you will see sparks. Not the case on a true OEM / Apple magsafe adapter.

Do you have a multimeter for taking some measurements?
