It's my first time posting on this forum after months of toughing out the trackpad clicking/creaking noise.
I've done a bit of Googling to see what the issue may be, but none of the advice seemed to fix the issue.
The issue ended up being the plastic piece that secures the bottom plate together with the battery. It was cracked. After removing the plastic piece on the battery side, the noise is now gone. To remove this, you may want to use fine point tweezers.
