I just opened my new MacBook Air, and the screen almost feels like there is a protective film over it, like comes on the phones, and I am not sure if there is one or if the screen just feels sort of 'rubbery' almost instead of 'glass-like' like all other laptops and computers. So I guess my question is, is there a protective film on it that I am supposed to take off, or is it just the way the screen is? Please and thank you, for your help in advance.

Has anyone figured this out yet? Just got my 2020 MacBook Air yesterday and I'm noticing the same problem. Terrible quality video.

I don't have one, but according to unboxing videos....no, there is clear plastic film to remove. Were both of these new or refurbs?

Any pics or videos to share that shows the issue?

Have you talked to Apple about this on new machines? As I recall Apple has a 30 day return policy.

I just noticed that I may have the same thing. I was trying to see if I can peel anything off but I did't want to scratch it, in case there wasn't a "film" on it.

Have any of you had any luck in finding out?

Nope. There’s no film. The quality of the camera is terrible for the 2020 MacBook airs. 🙁
