Macbook air help stuck on internet recovery

How long should this take
Why is the wifi showing?
Shouldnt it be showing “starting internet recovery may take a while”instead of the wifi??

Means it's downloading Recovery from the Internet. Depends on Mac and the network, and it can take a while (on older Macs up to 1 hour).
You could change the network
