Hello,

I own a MacBook air 2017, which worked fine until this morning.

It's got a relatively fresh installation of Mojave, I formatted it about a month ago. There are not many files in it.

I'm travelling and I brought it for work.

It started saying the keyboard and the pad were not there. I restarted it a few times, and eventually it did not turn on anymore...

I tried resetting it using option/CMD/P/T and power button for 10 seconds. Nothing.

I also tried shift/ctrl/option and power button for 10 seconds. Nothing.

Only reaction I get from it is when I press shift/ctrl/option and power button for 10 seconds, and the charger is on, showing orange light (charging). When I release the buttons the light turns to green (charged).
I then press the power button and the charger light turns to orange again.

What can I do? Is it a dead motherboard?
I will be in Bangkok in a few days. I was thinking maybe going to those tech freaks at the MBK mall that fix everything, as my last option.
What do you think?
Thanks for your input.

If possible, disconnect the battery from the logic board, connect the charger, don't touch any keys, and the MacBook may boot up on its own. If it doesn't, leave the battery and charger disconnected for about 45 minutes, re-connect the charger with the battery disconnected, and see if the MacBook powers up.

If you don't have the proper tool to remove the bottom cover, try and take it to an Apple store and have them run their diagnostics.

Ok, I have an update. I left it alone for a few hours. Came back, and it started but, as before, trackpad and keyboard are not responding.

An update:

My MacBook is now, for some reason, working perfectly. The battery, with 586 cycles says "SERVICE BATTERY".

I'm in Thailand, and there were heavy rains, a big storm, and humidity was close to 100%, when the storm began was when the laptop stopped working.
Apple says you should use your MacBook with temperatures between 10 and 35 degrees (celcius), and humidity below 95%... Could humidity be the reason? It's around 85% now, and the laptop is working.

Or... Could it be the battery? Should I replace it?

Thanks for any input.
