My M1 MacBook Air has arrived - Located in Australia
First impression is its faster than my other Macs (2018 MacBook Air, 2012 iMac i7, 2009 2.93 x5670 MacPro)
MS teams is faster on Rosetta than I've sen on any Mac
Webcam is crystal clear
Very happy with the purchase

MS Teams is an electron based app if I remembered it correctly, which basically does what browsers do like executing Javascript. Apple's Architectures are known to be fast in browser tests / Javascript tests, so MS Teams should be fast.

It is very fast - On my MacBook Air 2018 i5 the fan spins up the and system slows down - no slowdowns to report so far. app open very quickly.

PCIe 3.0 speeds?

Hey OP, do you have two monitors to test connecting them to? Would love to know what happens in clamshell mode.

Thanks for posting this OP. Any thoughts on whether 8GB memory seems like enough for working across multiple browser tabs in Chrome, with other apps running too?

It is nice to see the MacBook Air catching up (I still have my 2013 11" MBA). But this kind of performance is not a new thing for Apple. Here is the internal SSD on my 2018 Mini (the 2tb SSD has higher write speeds than the smaller ones, which are the same as the results that @abbotsford1980 posted above)
