MacBook Air M1 Doesn't Sleep When Display is Closed!

Mine stopped doing that when i stopped using ms teams or keep excel open active when closing the lid.

Hmm. I don't use MS Teams ever and rarely use Excel. But I'll see if I can narrow down other programs that might be playing badly with sleep, at least. Thanks!

Microsoft Teams is pure evil. I have to force quit it before shutting down my Mac. It's like Jason Vorhees from Friday the 13th, you cannot kill it.

I just uninstalled it, so we'll see if that fixes the problem. 🤞 If so, I'll submit a bug report and tell my relative who works at Microsoft to tell his friend who works in the Mac Office team to (nicely) yell at the responsible parties. Lol.

Shame they took away the LED on the front case. That was always the way to see what state your MacBook was in with the lid closed.

That's one solution, except where I work all of the meetings are in MS Teams. You can run Teams in a browser window. The last time I tried that, I think there were issues with input devices. I can't remember it if was the microphone or the camera, but I might try the browser app again this week.
