Hi all,

I have an M1 MBA. Since I just started traveling more, I purchased this case for it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B9BGPXB1?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

I really like the case, but I've noticed that my screen lid keeps shifting backwards and forwards with the slightest movement of the laptop. Is this a screen hinge problem, or could the screen lid protector just be too heavy? I have never noticed this with previous computers.

Is there anyway to tighten up the hinge? Just curious if anyone else has had this issue.

Thanks!

There's no problem with the hinges. They're designed to allow the computer to open with only one hand, and putting a case on it just upsets that balance. If the hinges were stiff enough to hold up the heavier display with the case on it, then it'd require 2 hands to open if there were no case on the computer. I personally would not use a case because the hinges are not designed to support that weight.
