MacBook Air M2 13" SSD speed difference with 512GB or 1TB?

Hi,
I'm just curios to understand if there is a speed difference between the 512GB and the 1TB models, if someone can link me some speed tests or a thread (I've searche but I found only 256 vs 512).

Because Apple switched from 128GB to 256GB modules for their SSDs, the big jump is between 256 with it's single module and 512GB with dual modules. Any differences in going from 512GB to 1TB would be minor.

The speed difference is more so between the 256 GB models and the higher capacity options. That’s because, as dmcloud says, the 256 GB model uses just one flash module whereas 512 GB models and above use multiple.

Its sort of like trying to channel traffic down a lane - the 256 GB has just one lane for traffic to go down, whereas the 512 GB (for example) has two lanes meaning traffic can travel faster and more efficiently. How this transfers into real world usage depends on the user.

If you have lots of data, the higher storage option is typically best. You may still notice slow down if you’re running out of hard disk space, regardless of the capacity.

2x 512Gb

I bought a 1TB model, I'll make a speedtest just for curiosity but I don't think it will be faster than the 512GB (2x 256GB)

1TB arrived, I think it's faster in write than the 512GB. It reaches almost 4Gbps

I think the question is being asked because the M2 Pro Mini 1TB configuration has 4x256, and 2x read write speeds over the 512GB, and 4x over the 256GB. But happy to know that there no substantial speed boost for the MacBook Air.

Yeah realistically I do not notice a difference between a SATA SSD and an NVME SSD day to day. If I transfer files, yeah obviously I will see a difference. But I don't do that a lot.

Yes I also have the M2 Pro Mini 1Tb and it reaches 7Gbps write


but, despite the 1TB Air has still the 2x512 and not 4x256, is still faster than in write speed than the 512Gb model (double?).
