Hello everyone!

I purchased myself a macbook 20 days ago. Two days ago while I was admiring the laptop I saw that there are 2 bends on the back plate of the macbook where the screen hinges are, specifically where I think the antennas are.
After some online digging I saw that there are multiple cases of such problem, where the back plate comes bent.
Also I have a friend with the same macbook Air M2 on black edition that he said he doesnt have any bend, the back being straight sharp.

//((The only way to check if this problem exists for you all is to hold the macbook and look at it vertically like aiming with a gun, that way you can see if there is the imperfection.))

//Another user by the name "mrcel" posted these images that are also similar to my problem.

I would like to know if everyone has this problem or if I should consider going under warranty with the laptop.

Thank you for your time!

Hi.
Know issue with this model as you already may have seen:

Some Mac has more of it and some others have less.
Not really important, no machine has developed any fault because of this.

However, check if you have this problem with your M2:
If you have it, return it.

I wanted to ask you if you have this problem about the wavy/bent back plate too, if you dont mind checking.

I tried to understand the issue you mentioned above. I dont really get it.
I press the apple logo from top left > i press sleep > after i press sleep I immediately press any random key on the keyboard and the monitor powers on immediately.

Can you detail the problem further or explain it to me so I can recreate the stated issue above?

Thank you for your time!

I have some bending in a couple of spots

Click  > Lock screen.
You should be in the screen with the clock and your username.
Hit ESC, the display goes black.
Press any key or move the touchpad, the display should wake.
Hit ESC again and then any key.
Do it quickly, in a faulty machine after a couple times the display not longer wakes.

After a couple of tries I cant seem to emulate the error/glitch that you mentioned, maybe it has to do with an update that was done by all the users, and that OS version might be the reason that some of you have that, the only update I did was the one before the sequoia launch

Don't have it on my M3 Air.

It's a manufacturing defect but shouldn't affect usage. You can try get it replaced but I wouldn't waste my time over such a minor issue and if I were Apple I wouldn't give out a replacement for this cosmetic issue.

the issue itself might become something bigger because that shows the lack of stability of that plate, a single issue might trigger a butterfly effect, by that i mean the integrity of the macbook is lowered and can become a further issue
