Everything was fine until just this morning. I worked late last night and when I turned it on this morning, it made the noise, gave me the logo etc and turned on. However then suddenly went dark. I presume I must have run out of battery.

So I charged it until the light went green. But whenever I press power it makes this tiny little click/vibrate and doesn't switch on. I've tried holding power and also holding shift control and option with power - it just clicks and doesn't turn on. This is a 3 month old macbook air 2015 bought recently and has been working fine.

Having said this, the same thing happened once before for a while and then switched on later on. I don't remember what If anything I tried but it just worked.

Any ideas?

Sounds like you're gonna need a repair! Take it to an apple store. I don't think any home remedies are going to turn it back on.

Sounds like you're probably right.
Just wondering though does anyone know what it means when you get that little vibrate when I press power? It seems to come from the area around the power socket.

Thanks.

I agree with the comment about getting this back to the Apple Store. Not good behavior for a 90-day machine. That said, you could try something easy:

1. Check to make sure there's nothing goo-ing up the MagSafe. It's magnetic, and sometime things get in there.

2. With power plugged in, push and hold the power button on the upper right. Count to 10. Release. Now push for 1 second, as if turning on. I've had this work sometime to revive "dead" systems.
