Is there anyway I can hook my Macbook Air up to my iMac to use its 24" aluminum display.

i dont believe you can unless you constantly do screen sharing? 98% sure its a no...if anyone else wants to chime in on that one...

No, you cannot hook it up to use the display as a display, but Screen Sharing, as suggested, works well for non-video-intense situations.

The iMac is an all-in-one. It does not have, nor has an iMac ever had, a means to use the display separately from the computer.

Just wondering why you'd want to do that. If you need to access the files on the MBA, just use a network share, and run the software on your iMac.

This is the major flaw with iMacs. You buy a beautiful display that you can't ever use separate from the built in computer. There are no 'inputs' for you to plug anything else for display from.

Once you are done with the computer in the iMac, you will lose a perfectly good, gorgeous 24" display.

Sorry.
