I have and love both. But in your situation, the MBA is a no brainer if you have college coming up.

If you own any sort of computer I'd say just get an iPad. If the iPad is going to be your ONLY computer then get the MBA. Having had both I sold my MBA because I have an iMac as well and I didn't need that many computers. I love having a iPad with 4G even though I don't know how much I'm going to actually continue using the LTE (due to just plain money saving reasons) but having it is great. Love using it when I'm out and about.

Air first iPad second. Or if you don't need osx then I would recommend going with a windows based laptop to save $$. But laptop over tablet for sure.

Hi,
just sold my iPad 2 with the intention to buy The New iPad but have realised I can afford the Macbook Air 13" refurbished from my local Curry's (like Best Buy).

Do I go for the new iPad or Macbook Air? I only really use Facebook and Twitter, and generally browse around websites. Do school work every now and then but next year in College I will be working much more.

I love the usability of the iPad and the portability of it, and the screen on the iPad 3 is said to be amazing. The battery life on the iPad is much longer also. Having said that my dying Samsung laptop struggles to cope and is really quite dodgy and I would rather have a reliable computer like the Macbook Air and I've always wanted a Mac.

Cheers for your help.

Henry
For what you want to be doing, get the Macbook Air.

iPad is a complete waste of money. All you need to spend on Apple is just a laptop. That's it. Anything more, is a waste of money and you will thank me for it. I wasted so much money on Apple I could have bought a new car with all that money.

Rule #2: Don't buy Apple accessories. They are waste of money.

And as my brother would say, "I wasted so much money on cars I could have bought Apple stocks with all that money and retire early!" :D

Hi,

Just sold my old jet ski with the intention to buy a new jet ski but have realized I can afford a certified pre-owned Accord from my local Honda dealer.

Do I go for the new jet ski or the Accord? I only really use jet ski a few times a year. Do stuff around water every now and then but next year in College I will be around water much more.

I love the usability of the jet ski and the portability of it, and the engine on the jet ski is said to be amazing. The fuel economy on the jet ski is much better also. Having said that, my dying Ford Pinto struggles to cope and is really quite dodgy and I would rather have a reliable car like the Accord and I've always wanted a Honda.

Cheers for your help.

This is one of the best analogies to the "should I get an iPad or an MBA" question. Good job!

I agree with the MBA only. I sold my iPad and bought the MBA but go for the 4GB RAM one. I have a WiFi only Galaxy Tab 8.9 which was cheap and perfect for leisure stuff around the house.
