The new MacBook Air 11" (stock) performs at 80% of the current 13" MacBook Pro 13".
So, following pure logic, it turns out that the new MacBook Air is 144% faster than the first generation MacBook Pro, and this does not count the SSD speed.
In conclusion, the MacBook Air 11" ($900) is faster than your 1st Generation 13" MacBook Pro ($1200).
Remember, this incorporates graphics. When you incorporate processor speed, it is about 108% faster than the first generation MacBook Pro 13". When you put in the SSD, the final score comes out to be about 120% faster than the first generation MacBook Pro and just as fast (100%) as the current MacBook Pro (stock 13").
Just an interesting tidbit of info. The only downside to the new Air is the lack of a backlit keyboard! Although in Lion, I will use F5 for Launchpad and another key for another feature (if I get the new Air).

 The stock MBA 11 operates at 1.4GHz or ~58% of the MBP

Why not just look at the front page of MacRumors where they posted benchmarks for the MBA. Seems a bit more straight forward then doing the math to figure out that one model is 144% faster then another.
