jasen, how did you solve the issue?

Im having issues with the trackpad on my 2012 macbook air also, I tried giving Apple a call about it and calling them unhelpful would be an overstatement. The problem is very intermittent and just seems to randomly pop up from time to time, I'm worried it's going to get more consistent after I run out of warranty.

This same exact problem had plagued my MBA a few months ago, I even made a thread about it. I made an appointment to take it to the Genius bar and literally the day of the appointment I was at home trying to replicate the behaviour just to make sure I could prove to them that it was happening or risk looking like an idiot if I brought it to them and being unable to show them what was wrong. For the life of me I could NOT make do it anymore. I was dragging my finger all over the trackpad trying to force the issue because in my mind I didn't think it was actually fixed since it used to happen sporadically.

However it's been a while now and the problem hasn't returned so I have no clue what fixed it but I have had no problems since then .

Mine went crazy last night. I think a drop of water or two seeped into it. I made a genius appt for tonight, but it cleared up an hour before.

Same here on my 2010 Air :( sticky, draggy, selecting things when it shouldn't....
