With the Big Sur 11.3 recently released how long will it be before it comes already preinstalled on a MacBook Air? How long does it usually take for latest release to come installed from the factory? Planning on ordering online directly from Apple soon. Thanks.

Apple pre-installs the latest macOS releases right before it is shipped. If you order a Macbook Air now, it's safe to assume it will already have 11.3.

Doesn't that depend on the stock level? There has been a few times where I got a Mac from Apple and had to update out of the box.

I ordered my refurb yesterday and it was delivered today with 11.3

I then installed the .1 on my own

Mine updated when I got it going. It's on 11.3.1 now; but it wasn't from factory

It's not hard to get it fully up to date once it's up & running, so no need to worry about it really, is there?!
