MacBook Alu Unibody Fans

Hi guys,
I have been using my MB for 2 years and noticed for the last few months, my fans go crazy when watching youtube videos. Is this normal?
I have the MB elevated on a Mstand and keep the lid open when watching the videos. The fans are like almost 6000rmp according to the istat widget.

I got a new MBA and it is silent even when watching 1080p videos. What can I do to help this?
