It's here!!!

Not a single buzz, whine or moo. Every single join on the whole machine is perfectly flush, not a mark or scratch on the entire machine.

It feels BOMBPROOF!!! So well made.

It's so silent, and makes my 1.67 PowerBook seem so loud and clunky. I can hear noises i'd never heard before, and my PowerBook has a whine that i hadn't realised was there.

The glossy screen is amazing too, so crisp, clear and bright! I thought my PowerBook's screen was on low, to find it was on full!!!

For anyone turned off by the negative remarks, there is a lot of hope.

This is my girlfriends first brand new Mac and she is smiling from ear to ear.

Any questions you want to ask, feel free. Even though most have been answered before, i feel i needed to post this as we are relieved and very very happy.

Rich.

D*** it... For each bug free MacBook that's delivered the chances for me to get one of the small percentage of lemons increases... D*** you, I say...

:p J/K

I'm sure your girlfriend, and let's face it: you too one way or another (;)), will be very happy with it... congratulations... :)

Cool! Another perfect MB. BTW, not to bring out a negative topic, but have you noticed noise from the SD during bootup? Mini does say a little thing when I plug in my Mighty Mouse during sleep* and when I boot the computer.

*When the MacBook is asleep. Not when I am asleep.:p

Same here -- just received mine from Amazon.com After having gone thru 3 MBPs because of various issues, it's so nice to have a perfect MB!!!!!!

I'm sure the noise on startup is just the superdrive positioning itself for insertion of a DVD/CD?

I don't think ours does, as we having too much fun with it turned on!

Congratulations on your new MacBooks and iMacs guys!!!

I am just as happy as my girlfriend.!!! woohoo.

Rich.

You're not getting the proper Mac experience, send me the MacBook and keep ordering one till you get one that either Moos, whines, clucks, bleats, crows, whatever barn yard noises you can think of.

But make sure you send me the MacBook.

Don't want to put you off or anything but something to bear in mind.

My macbook arrived perfectand silent it but then out of nowhere 3 or so days later, i heard "The moo" for the first time. It doesn't happen often, it doesn't annoy me really but its there. It's caused by the fans turning on and off repeatedly, its based on temperature. If your macbook ges in a situation where the temperature is right, it will moo. The whining cpu, i didn't have that either for a few days but i noticed it recently. Turning off the 2nd core stops the whine but temps climb pretty high.

Hissing/Hot charger... yup got that too, doesn't happen all the time but its there.

So just don't get your hopes up too high, it took me 3 days before any of the problems showed up.

Saying that, none of these problems really bother me to be honest, the whining is only audible in a silent room, when theres any background noise you don't notice it. The mooing is easily stopped by reducing the temperature (or funnily enough increasing it), it only happens when the temp hovers around the fan on/off temp. If i'm using it on my lap and it starts mooing its easy enough to lift it up and the temps drop a few c, enough to turn the fans off.
