Hi,

I just bought a macbook (I am new to mac) and I am attempting to use my Cubase LE software, but when I use Cubase it tells me there is no input, and that I need to set it.
I try to set the input in Cubase and it says there is no ASIO input.
The mac sound input shows a built-in internal microphone and a line-in/audio line in port. Switching between these two had no effect on the "no input" response from Cubase.

The macbook says on the box: "Optical digital audio/analog audio input and output ports" which I thought had me covered in terms of audio input and output in general... but now I think that that may not be the case.
Is there no audio input on this computer that will run the cubase?
Is this a sound card issue?

I am not the greatest with computers so any help is greatly appreciated!

You need to get an audio interface.

If this is an alu MB you will will have to get a USB audio interface.
For the white MB you should rather consider a Firewire audio interface.

I don't know Cubase at all ( I use Pro Tools HD and Logic Studio), but
I assume you'll have to set the desired audio I/O in the preferences of your DAW.;)

okay.

so by audio interface you mean, for example, my presonus firepod?
that makes sense... maybe it just did not recognize it.

I'll give it a go when I get home from work.

Thank you!

Exactly, yes. May you have drivers for Mac OS X on the Presonus website.

Check it out.

Ley us know.. ;)

Cheers
