MacBook Battery Issue

Hi all. So my battery on my 2009 MacBook shows it’s charged 100% however if the MagSafe falls out the computer shutsdown the piece on the bottom to lock the battery in seems to be broken so the battery just falls out or hangs in. I’m just curious if it could be the PMu not running off of it or if the battery isn’t being held in enough to work or what not. Any suggestions is appreciated . Thanks!

Resetting the smc fixed it. Option +Shift+command+power for 10 seconds

Nope still not resolved. It shutdown again when on battery. Grrr. Oh well.

So here's an additional piece. It will stay asleep with the battery plugged in and the power adapter unplugged. It will sometimes turn on for 10 seconds before it just shuts off completely. Guessing its on its way to recycling center soon =/ I'll have to tape in the mag adapter because though its magnetic, it pops out too easily.
