Hi-
I've got a new macbook and was hoping to ask about the best way to charge the battery to optimize battery life. Is it best to only charge the computer when it's basically out of batteries or does it not really matter if you just charge it whenever you have it by an outlet? I remember the ipod manual specifically saying it made no difference with its battery but wasn't sure if that applied to the macbook also.
Thanks in advance!

They reckon that when you first get your battery you should charge it fully and then let it drain completely – and repeat the process every so often. Apparently, it calibrates the battery and helps to keep it in good health.

There's some useful advice on keeping your battery happy on the Apple website, here and here.
