Macbook beats my oldG4?

I have G4 DP 800. I don't think Aplple will release 2G Mac pro very soon so I'm considering to buy Macbook while waiting for new Mac pro. Is Macbook faster than my G4? I mostly work with Flash 8 and photoshop cs2 and they are bloody slow.

I believe that in most if not all tasks, a macbook will be faster than your g4. Maybe a macbook pro is more suited to your usage.

in a lot of cases, a macbook will be faster than a dual 2.0ghz g5.

Generally speaking, the MacBook will beat any G4 based machine hands down, no problem. Remember however that PS CS2 is not Universal Binary, and isn't that snappy running under Rosetta... (not sure about flash)
