So I've had my late 2006 macbook sitting around for a while now, i just recently booted it up and it didn't go to the home screen just a blinking question mark folder. After that i reinstalled the OS X over night and woke up to it not done yet during the installation process it allowed me to pick the HD now it doesn't let me do that anymore, but i know for a fact the HD is working because i feel the disc running in the HD itself...
Guys know anything i can do to fix this issue or any suggestions?

The hard drive is dead. Just because the drive didn't totally seize up doesn't mean it isn't shot. You have to remember your computer is eight years old and has that little platter inside spinning at 5400 rotations per minute as you move it around, drop it, etc. Fortunately, the part is very easy to get to and a replacement is rather affordable in the scheme of things.
