Yes, there should be a new driver when the upgraded Basestation hits the market. Of course, Apple could still be working with Atheros and Broadcom on making sure they all work together better. Yet it is strange that it seems like the Pro has the number of antenna wires but the older card, while all the other new machines have updated cards.
