Macbook cant load videos

HI I just got a new DSL connection, my mac connects to router, I can browse but cant stream videos. Whereas my friends PC can stream videos. I went and checked with different mac, the problem persists. Help me to resolve

What Mac OS X and browser version do you use use?
What exactly happens/appears, when you want to stream a video?

I use chrome 17.0.963.56, the latest version. when I click on a video, there is just a blank screen. I have tested on my college network, the videos stream fine. I use netgear n300 DGN2200. I think this has something to do with my router settings. yes! I have flash installed.
