I'm thinking about this case for my macbook. Are the rubberized feet enough to allow some air to flow between the bottom of the laptop and the microsuede lining?...or should i even worry about it getting so warm that it needs circulation?

Here's video of it. Searching this description in Youtube: Burnished Portfolio for Macbook 12" Sena Cases

The Sena website is very slow this morning. I can't get to the product to see the price.

I did see the YouTube video. Does not show the price.

    Here's the thing...

Sena makes excellent cases. I have owned quite a few. Have reviewed a few for my website. No doubt, top quality products.

The thing I definitely don't like about that case is the adhesive. Why would you want to apply adhesive to your Macbook making it absolutely impossible for you to remove it from the case if you wanted to.

If it weren't for that adhesive, I would probably consider that case.

    Two issues I see:
    1. Wrapping the MB in leather is a horrible idea because it is passively cooled through the graphite pad attached to the CPU and the bottom aluminum panel. The case would only insulate and cause the CPU to throttle because of the heat.
    2. I agree with @NJRonbo, applying adhesive makes it a permanent attachment which I can't see holding up for very long.
Poorly designed case IMO. Especially for the price.

It's a reusable adhesive so it doesn't stick forever. You can take it off and reapply at any time without it causing damage.

Thanks for sharing about the passive cooling. I'll look into that. The adhesive is not permanent. It's reusable, so you can take it off and reapply without it leaving residual stickiness.

I wouldn't be worried about residual adhesive, I would be worried the adhesive would lose it's strength after repeated applications.

Makes sense. I'm a one and done kind of person so there wouldn't be repeat applications and there's a strap so losing strength isn't as much of an issue. I am concerned about the cooling, though. I don't want it to run hot and be wrapped in suede and leather.

Wouldn't worry about the heat. I have a 2015 bto rmb, I have a snugg leather case that I carry it around in and when I use it on the sofa I use the case as a tray. I never suffer throttling issues

Another alternative would be to see if one of these models better meets your needs.
If you have any questions you can call and talk to the guy who designs them, which is kinda cool.

    MacCase Premium Leather Collection

    Good luck with your search.

No rMB is passively cooled, insulating it makes for little sense. Have owned my rMB for over a year and it`s traveled the world with, no soft case, no hard case and most importantly no ill effects, just a no name sleeve.

Enjoy using your Mac`s, not babying them :)
