One last question: Tomorrow, I will be purchasing my MacBook. I will be doing it at an Apple Store, and it is around 3 hours away from my house, so I want to make sure the thing works before I leave. Does the MacBook have a full charge in it? I heard reports that it did, but I want to make sure.

    Thanks!

The MacBook does come pre-charged. But, how long it will last I'm not sure.

Not sure about MacBooks, but all 3 of my iPods came charged, even my refurb Nano.

You'll have enough to test it. My experiences are they've come with 1/2 to 3/4 charge from factory.

Does anyone believe it will harm the battery?

I played with my MacBook using the factory charge when I got it. 111 Charge Cycles later my battery is still showing 100% in iStat Pro

    I picked-up my BlackBook 3-days ago...

and transferred all my data from my MB 2.16 in the Apple Store. It took about an hour and fifteen minutes to transfer everything, and they utilized firewire (they didn't use the charger). I got the BlackBook home and noticed that the battery was now at 75% and (1) cycle, and when I charged it up it showed 100% and 5403=5403 mAh, so I'm confident you'll have "a full charge" for your new MB! :p

"Battery Health" = Current Max Charge (in mAh)/Original Max Charge (in mAh)
