Thats perfectly fine, the power management onboard does a good job.

That's only if the battery is removed. Leave the battery in.

Where did you hear that? It's the first I've ever heard it. In fact I find I get better performance when I am plugged in as opposed to using the battery. Although it could be my imagination. When you are running in battery mode the computer does it's best to conserve battery power. This is not needed when plugged in. For what it's worth my iBook is always plugged in at home and at work. I only use the battery when there is no power available. My battery lasts longer too!

As long as you calibrate your battery every month or so there should be no issues.

How are you charging the battery if it is not in the laptop? Did you buy a recharger for it? Seems a bit of a waste to me, unless you have an extra battery.

yeah i took the battery out and use it directly thru ac power, with the ac adaptor plug into the macbook.

cause i was told that the batt will die very fast if i keep using and charging it.
