I recently sent my daughter's MacBook to Apple for repair of the discolored hand rests and track pad that they have agreed is a manufacturing defect and have agreed to repair under AppleCare. I boxed it carefully in the box provided by Apple and sent it off via their specified carrier. They called me two days later to tell methat the display was cracked and was not covered under warranty and how would I like to pay for the nearly $800. repair charge. The display was not cracked when it left my house. Apple says the box was not damaged when it was received. Is it possible that the cold temperature the computer was subjected to during the flight to the Apple Repair Center could have cracked the display? Has anyone had a similar experience to this?
