Macbook Dashboard Weather Widget

New to MacBooks. I have a 2018 MBP 15 with the latest Mojave update (yesterday) and the weather widget that comes up when you do a three finger swipe to the right (alongside the calculator, calendar and clock) is always showing me Cupertino. When I try to add a zip code or type in New York, it says no cities found.

Anybody have an idea why? Thanks.

Widgets are doomed anyway, so don't get too comfortable with them

I have this pet peeve where even if I don’t use something, I want it to work if it’s there and taking up space. My OCD kicks in. Thanks for the link
