Macbook desktop freezes

Hi All!

For some random reason my MacBook desktop decides to freeze up!

i cannot place any files on the desktop, i can not open any either including my HD icon....

Can someone please assist me or give me any advice on how to solve this problem.

I would really appreciate it

one thing i forgot to do was to RESTART (blush). I did that and its working fine! Thanks

I don't know why I didn't think to do that! hahaha

I have the same issue and although you can restart Finder to cure it, it does occur again and again. I have a new Macbook Pro. I have seen it reported elsewhere too, but no fix mentioned. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have a MacBook Pro with 10.5.8 and have the same problem (I think since I started using TimeMachine). I found that relaunching Finder will do the trick as well (restarting takes so long...)
